About Dizzy Dots™

On a summer’s evening, in October 2003, two heavily pregnant ladies sat opposite each other ready to learn about the world of babies through ante natal classes. Neither knew very much about the simplicities of changing a nappy or even just how much the world they were about to enter was about to change their lives for good.

Little did they know that within the next 6 months, along with the shock of motherhood, they would not only become close friends, but would form a successful partnership in several businesses within the baby world.

Those two ladies were us, Kim and Sally.

We met during the last few weeks of pregnancy. We spent many hours of those last few weeks wallowing by the pool and generally eating anything we could get our hands on.

Sally’s  little girl, Emily, was born in December, followed 7 weeks later by Manon, Kim’s daughter – both healthy girls with supersized “gutzpa”!

Having spent 10 years in advertising, Sally knew that now I was a Mum, that world was no longer for me, but she wasn’t ready to be a full-time mother forever. As an actress and make-up artist, Kim was also keen to find an alternative means of income.

Both of us have spent many years in Europe and were frustrated with the lack of choice available to South African parents in general. So many of the items our friends were visiting us with, or the products we were being sent as gifts were so different to those on the shelves of South African baby shops and boutiques.

We energetically set about setting up Dizzy Dots Trading, a company totally focused on manufacturing and importing products with the aim of making South African parenting easier.

Three years later, Dizzy Dots has a wide range of products available throughout South Africa, and we believe that our products have made a substantial difference to South African care-givers.

We are really proud to be the distributors for Amadeus™, a highly innovative British range of feeding products, and we are extremely excited about the success of these products in South Africa to date.

Our mission is to make parenting easier!

Everything we do works towards this aim, and as parents of small children ourselves, we are passionate about our mission.
